Commercial Manager

About the role

SRG Global is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join its growing team in Subiaco, Western Australia. Reporting to the Executive General Manager Corporate Services, the role provides commercial advice and support to business units, promotes strategic decision-making and aims to reduce commercial risk and optimise financial outcomes. It covers the pre-contract phase, the full contract lifecycle including dispute management, and governance of commercial and contractual processes.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in client and supplier pre-contract work, including risk assessment, commercial and contract review, and negotiation and execution.
• Oversee and support the project and contract management lifecycle, including material claims and disputes.
• Manage material subcontractors.
• Support commercial and contract training for key internal stakeholders.
• Implement risk management systems to identify and monitor commercial and financial risks, and promote robust commercial controls.
• Identify and implement process and control improvements with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Evaluate significant capital expenditures, business initiatives and major repairs and maintenance programmes for viability and compliance with the Group's Delegation of Authority.
• Support business unit leadership in annual budgets and forecasts, and help turn around financial and commercial trends and anomalies.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Law, Finance, Quantity Surveying or a similar field.
• 5+ years of experience after qualification.
• Thorough understanding of contracting, especially in civil, construction and resources contexts.
• Proven commercial acumen and strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage and adapt to a range of stakeholders.
