Collections Officer - Sydney CBD

About the role

A leading Australian financial services organisation is looking for an experienced Collections Officer for a temporary, office-based role in the Sydney CBD. Reporting to the Collections Manager, you will support customers with overdue accounts, negotiate repayment arrangements and contribute to collections performance in a busy, high-volume environment. The minimum contract is 1 month with potential to extend, and an immediate start is available.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outbound calls to recover overdue payments
• Negotiate and establish suitable repayment plans with customers
• Manage inbound enquiries from customers in arrears
• Send collections documentation and correspondence as required
• Maintain accurate customer records and account notes
• Investigate account information and assist with skip tracing where required
• Build positive customer relationships while achieving collection targets

Required profile

• Previous collections experience in a financial services or related environment
• Skip tracing experience required
• Ability to manage high call volumes and work to targets
• Strong negotiation, communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Attention to detail, administrative skills and problem-solving ability
