Clinical Trials Manager

About the role

Lead the Faculty’s clinical trials portfolio, strengthening governance, compliance, financial oversight and operational delivery. Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Faculty of Health’s clinical trials portfolio, overseeing trials from start‑up through to close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical trials from start‑up to close‑out within agreed timelines, budgets and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain effective governance frameworks, procedures and systems.
• Oversee ethics, risk, contracts, budgets, forecasting and reporting.
• Provide specialist advice to investigators, senior stakeholders and external partners.
• Improve operational performance through capable staff, resource management and digital tools.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, science, nursing, business administration, research management or related discipline.
• Extensive clinical trials operations or management experience within a university, health, industry, CRO or research environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICH‑GCP, NHMRC, TGA, ethics, privacy and institutional compliance requirements.
• Proven experience managing complex clinical trial operations, including budgets, timelines, reporting and stakeholder expectations.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and systems skills.
