Clinical Support Officer (Level 3)

About the role

The Clinical Support Officer (Administrative Clinical Support Officer Level 3) is based at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, which has cared for the veteran community for more than 70 years and now serves the communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and surrounding areas. The role is ward/unit based, supporting nurses, midwives, medical staff and allied health staff, with locally determined shift times according to patient and service needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide CSO functions across the health facility or to more than one ward/unit, complementing existing roles, systems and processes.
• Work closely with administrative staff such as Ward Clerks and Communication Officers at ward/unit level.
• Provide timely and accurate administrative and transactional services for the health care team on designated wards/units under the direction of the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager (N/MUM).
• Work under broad supervision but take some independent action, with decisions on the overall functioning and management of the ward/unit remaining the N/MUM's responsibility.

Required profile

• Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills, including accurate spelling, good comprehension and confidence in speaking.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.

• Pay of $37.27-$38.44 per hour plus superannuation.
