Clinical Research Associate II

About the role

AbbVie is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Associate II to join its expanding Clinical Operations team in Australia. The role involves overseeing clinical trial sites, ensuring compliance with protocols, and supporting the delivery of innovative medicines across multiple therapeutic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary sponsor contact for investigative sites, providing trial information and strengthening AbbVie’s partnership.
• Conduct site evaluation, training, routine on‑site and off‑site monitoring, and site closure activities in line with GCP, ICH guidelines and AbbVie SOPs.
• Develop and customise site‑engagement strategies, track progress, and report impact.
• Monitor recruitment and retention techniques, ensuring alignment with patient disease journeys.
• Mentor junior CRAs and contribute to global/local task forces.
• Manage investigator payments, adverse event reporting, and audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (health‑related preferred) with at least 1 year of clinical research monitoring experience.
• Experience in healthy‑volunteer and first‑in‑patient trials is highly desirable.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with competing deadlines.
