Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health) - Y-HiTH

About the role

The Youth Hospital in the Home (Y-HiTH) team, part of the Child and Youth Mental Health Service in North-West Tasmania, is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The team is based in Devonport and provides intensive, home-based mental health care for young people aged 16 to 24. This is a permanent full-time, shift-work position of 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise in contemporary nursing practice within the Y-HiTH setting, promoting professional standards and accreditation standards of practice.
• Maintain advanced clinical practice skills and act as a resource person for the multidisciplinary team on complex clinical issues.
• Provide recovery-focused specialist mental health assessments and intensive home-based care for young people and their families, using recognised assessment methods and evidence-based interventions.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• At least 2 years of postgraduate experience in an area relevant to the role.
• Current Working with Children registration and current driver's licence.
