Clinical Nurse Consultant (Urology)

About the role

A Clinical Nurse Consultant (Urology) is sought to join Gold Coast Health, a 14,000-strong team providing health care to the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales. The role is permanent part-time (72 hours per fortnight) and focuses on urology patient care, education and support for patients, families and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care services relating to urology
• Practice as an independent practitioner with good time management, communication skills and patient advocacy
• Manage and undertake surveillance of ureteric stents, ensuring care is delivered within documented timelines
• Work with the urology multidisciplinary team to review policies and procedures in line with evidence-based practice
• Implement the Elective Surgery Implementation Standards guidelines

Required profile

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent; a Master's or higher in a relevant area is highly desirable, and commitment to post-graduate study is encouraged if not held
• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, pertussis and hepatitis B, or ability to be vaccinated and stay vaccinated
• Tuberculosis screening; declaration of any serious discipline history
• Criminal history screening required for new employees (cost covered by Gold Coast Health)
