Client Services Support Officer

About the role

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is recruiting a Client Services Support Officer for Western Plains Correctional Centre, a modern maximum-security prison focused on rehabilitation that houses up to 1,248 people in custody. The role helps keep essential prison services running smoothly, works mainly on site including weekends and public holidays, and involves direct contact with people in custody. It is a casual position earning $62,104 - $79,753 per year plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide helpful customer service to people in custody, staff and visitors
• Manage mail and personal property through secure checks, storage and delivery
• Process money and account transactions while keeping accurate records
• Order supplies, check stock and support the prison shop
• Organise safe transport of people and goods within the prison

Required profile

• No mandatory qualification is required
• Knowledge of relevant laws, policies and procedures
• Sound computer skills, including office software or prison systems
• Understanding of stores, warehousing and workplace safety
• A respectful, flexible approach to helping customers, solving problems and working with people from diverse backgrounds
