Client Development Partner - Legal & AI

About the role

A relationship-driven, lawyer-to-lawyer role for an experienced lawyer or legal counsel who wants to move away from long hours toward high-impact, client-facing work in legal innovation. You will work across pre-sales and post-sales activity with top-tier law firm and corporate accounts, helping them adopt LexisNexis Protégé, an AI-powered legal platform combining legal research, drafting and analysis. The position is permanent and full-time, based in Sydney or Melbourne with flexible hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Drive adoption of Protégé in top accounts by working lawyer-to-lawyer with senior legal stakeholders
• Build trusted relationships with practice leaders and turn their workflow priorities into practical AI-enabled solutions
• Deliver high-impact demonstrations showing how AI improves legal work and outcomes
• Partner with Relationship Managers and Directors to research prospects and run pursuit strategies that build senior-level relationships and create new business (pre-sales)
• Capture customer insights in the CRM and share learnings with the business to shape engagement and recommendations

Required profile

• Legally qualified professional (essential)
• 5 years' experience as a practicing lawyer, legal counsel or barrister
• Strong interest in AI, legal tech or innovation, and curiosity about how it transforms legal workflows
• Experience in client-facing, advisory or stakeholder engagement roles (beneficial but not essential)
• Background in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team highly regarded
• Executive presence and confidence engaging senior stakeholders

Required skills

• Experience presenting, facilitating or demonstrating solutions, or willingness to develop these skills
• CRM data capture and reporting
