Cleaning Assistant – Support Services

About the role

East Grampians Health Service, a regional health service in Ararat and Willaura, Victoria, is seeking a suitably skilled applicant for a permanent part-time Cleaning Assistant position in its Support Services department. The role is 20 hours per week and reports to the Catering and Environmental Coordinator.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the organisation, including extra and high cleaning duties
• Keep all areas of the Health Service clean, hygienic and safe under Victorian health facility cleaning standards
• Take part in food service to patients and in removing meal trays and food after meals
• Help clean clinical areas
• Document activities appropriately and follow infectious control guidelines
• Treat patients, clients, visitors and staff with respect, dignity and courtesy, in an environment free from harassment and discrimination

Required profile

• Strong work ethic and team-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible to job needs and an eye for detail
• Friendly manner with customers and respect for patient privacy and confidentiality
• Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and satisfactory employment checks (police, working with children and NDIS worker screening)
