Classroom Teacher – Full‑time Fixed‑term (Primary)

About the role

St Gerard Majella School is seeking a dedicated Classroom Teacher to join its primary team from 13 July 2026 to 15 January 2027. The role involves delivering high‑quality, inclusive learning experiences for students from Prep to Year 6, aligned with the Australian Curriculum and Catholic education values.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet National Standards and school learning plans.
• Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment responsive to diverse learning needs.
• Use assessment data to monitor progress and inform differentiated instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and the wider school community to support student wellbeing.
• Participate in professional learning, school improvement initiatives and Catholic ethos activities.

Required profile

• Registered or eligible for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
• Relevant professional qualifications in Education.
• Commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education.
• Strong focus on academic, social, emotional and spiritual development of young learners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and primary teaching practices.
• Ability to analyse assessment data and adapt teaching strategies.
• Proficiency with classroom assessment tools and resources.
