Civil Estimator – Renewable Energy EPC Projects

About the role

Samsung C&T is looking for a Civil Estimator to support the growth of its Energy EPC business in Australia. The role focuses on budgeting and cost management for large‑scale renewable energy projects, including solar farms and battery energy storage systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare indicative pricing and comprehensive project estimates, incorporating labour, material, subcontractor quotes and overheads.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data and ensure a full understanding of project scope.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and cost calculations based on drawings and specifications.
• Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and quality.
• Coordinate with project managers, cost controllers, planners and engineers to review and finalise estimates.
• Monitor project expenditures, update estimates throughout the lifecycle, and track actual costs against forecasts.
• Deliver estimates to clients and address any queries.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of all estimates.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting bid/tender phases in an EPC environment.
• Hands‑on experience with renewable PV solar farms and large‑scale BESS projects (≥100 MW).
• Strong understanding of PV and BESS system design.
• Proven ability to manage project design scope, schedule and budget.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
