Chef de Partie - Full Time

About the role

Novotel Newcastle Beach, part of the Accor network, is looking for a full-time Chef de Partie to join its kitchen team. The hotel sits a short walk from Newcastle Beach, serves corporate, leisure and family guests, and offers food at the Dalby Restaurant & Bar as well as catering for conferences and events across four conference rooms.

Key responsibilities

• Share ideas and suggestions to improve the environment and menus.
• Ensure consistent preparation of a la carte and buffet dishes according to property recipes and standards.
• Communicate with the team and respond to guest feedback.
• Demonstrate confidence and competence in preparation and cooking techniques.
• Maintain dish quality throughout preparation and presentation.
• Follow food safety and handling guidelines and respect Work Health & Safety procedures.
• Manage stock rotation and levels, and help with food costing and control where needed.

Required profile

• Trade cooking qualifications are essential.
• Australian work rights.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferable.
• Flexible availability: morning shifts from 5:30 am, mid-day and evening shifts from 2 pm.
• Physically fit for standing, heavy lifting and moving goods.
