Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Avani Cypress Lakes Resort is looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Supervisor to support its Maintenance department on a full-time basis. The role involves coordinating and carrying out all maintenance requirements across the property, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule starting at 6:30 am and occasional after-hours calls.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in leading and executing the preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal property performance.
• Supervise a team of two Maintenance Officers and provide hands-on repair and maintenance support across the property.
• Support key service areas such as electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security control systems, hydraulic services and approved contractor works.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) best practices.
• Assist with stock control and supplier coordination, and help prepare quotes and schedule maintenance tasks, including minor capital works.
• Work with the Hotel Manager on recruiting and developing the Maintenance team.

Required profile

• Previous hands-on maintenance or facilities experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Experience supervising or supporting team members within a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• A relevant trade or building qualification is highly regarded.
• Experience liaising and coordinating with contractors.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for proactive service.
• Working rights in Australia or New Zealand only.

Required skills

• Sound MS Office skills, including Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
