Chef de Partie - Casual Kitchen Team Member

About the role

AVANI Cypress Lakes Resort and AVANI WELL are looking for a skilled and reliable Chef de Partie to join their kitchen team on a full-time basis. The role supports the smooth operation of the kitchen while keeping the highest standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene. It is a casual position, with part-time or full-time options depending on business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking meals to a high standard, following recipes and keeping consistency.
• Collaborate with and support other kitchen team members for smooth daily operations.
• Plate and present dishes to brand standards.
• Help the Chef in Charge prepare back-of-house rosters.
• Oversee stock control and ensure food and kitchen supplies are stored safely.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen, equipment and storage.
• Contribute to developing new menu items with the Head Chef.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Cookery qualification.
• Previous experience in a similar role in a hotel or restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of cooking procedures and methods.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to cover all service periods (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and to work weekends and public holidays.
