Change Specialist

About the role

Melbourne Water is looking for a Change Specialist based in Melbourne (Docklands) to lead organisational change initiatives across the organisation. The role partners with leaders, sponsors and delivery teams to build readiness, support adoption and achieve sustainable business outcomes. It suits an experienced change professional who can work strategically while delivering practical results.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver change strategies, plans and interventions that support adoption of new processes, behaviours and ways of working.
• Make sure change approaches are proportionate to the scale, complexity and people impact of each initiative.
• Embed Melbourne Water's change management standards, frameworks and practices in delivery.
• Lead change management from planning and impact assessment through to implementation and adoption.
• Partner with sponsors, senior leaders and people leaders to build effective leadership of change.
• Monitor adoption, engagement and transition outcomes and use insights to refine interventions.
• Support the embedding and sustainability of new behaviours and processes.
• Contribute to the Change Community of Practice and continuous improvement of change tools and standards.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in Change, Organisational Psychology or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading organisational change in a complex environment.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver change strategies that build workforce readiness and adoption.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders, sponsors and delivery teams.
• Experience in project and program environments with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• Change management expertise, stakeholder engagement and leadership coaching.
• Desirable: formal certification in a recognised change methodology such as Prosci, PCI, ADKAR or equivalent.
