Change Lead - University Transformation Program

About the role

A major university-wide transformation program in Sydney, NSW is looking for an experienced Change Lead to shape how a large, complex organisation manages third-party relationships, governance, risk and compliance. The role provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership across a program introducing new processes, governance frameworks and supporting technology, working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders. It is a contract through to 30 June 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the overall change management approach so the organisation can adopt new ways of working and embed sustainable change across faculties, divisions and corporate functions.
• Develop and lead the end-to-end change management strategy and delivery roadmap.
• Oversee change impact assessments, organisational readiness and adoption planning.
• Provide strategic advice to program sponsors, senior executives and governance forums.
• Coordinate change activities across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.
• Lead and support a dedicated change management team.
• Monitor change saturation, readiness and adoption outcomes, implementing interventions where required.
• Support benefits realisation and the transition to the new operating model.

Required profile

• Senior change professional able to operate strategically while staying close to delivery.
• Experience leading complex organisational transformations and influencing stakeholders in large, matrixed environments.
• Track record of implementing new operating models, processes, governance arrangements or enterprise systems.
• Structured program and project governance experience.
• Ability to lead change practitioners, navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities.
