Category Specialist - Copper and Brassware

About the role

Reece is hiring a Category Specialist for its Merchandising team, covering copper and brassware. You will work closely with the Category Lead on strategic planning, category development and product range optimisation, partnering with domestic and international suppliers, branches and internal teams. As part of the induction, you will spend time working in one of the branches to learn about the products, brands and customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of category plans that drive strong customer and commercial outcomes.
• Provide reporting and insights on category portfolios, analysing results to update on trends and other impacts.
• Work with suppliers and key internal stakeholders on supplier management, product decisions and commercial conversations.
• Collaborate with teams across the business so the product strategy reflects what customers need.
• Use an operational and commercial mindset to find ways to improve product performance and customer experience.

Required profile

• Experience in a buying, category or merchandising role, with a genuine interest in products and how they meet customer needs.
• Great communication skills, a positive can-do approach and an inquisitive mindset.
• Strong relationship-building skills, able to work with internal stakeholders, external vendors and suppliers.
• Curious, collaborative and keen to learn.
• Business or Marketing degree qualification.
