Category Growth Manager (Books)

About the role

Amazon's Retail team is looking for a Category Growth Manager for its Books team in Australia. The role is full-time and requires an in-office presence five days a week at the CBD location. You will act as a customer and category advocate, working with partners and vendors as well as internal colleagues and cross-functional leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse sales data to identify growth opportunities and negotiate with publishing partners for exclusive titles or better terms
• Collaborate with marketing or operations teams to develop category initiatives and present recommendations to senior leadership
• Manage vendor relationships, handle financial planning and solve problems with limited guidance
• Break down issues into work streams, manage multiple projects and stakeholders and think both strategically and tactically

Required profile

• 4+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting experience, including negotiation and delivery of results
• Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
• Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
• Preferred: experience managing large data sets, vendor negotiations, pricing, promotion, inventory management and product development

Required skills

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with proven commercial knowledge
• Project management, prioritisation and multi-tasking
• Effective communication with partners, vendors and internal colleagues
• Preferred: 3+ years of Excel experience
