Casual Specialised Carer - Dementia Care

About the role

HammondCare North Turramurra is looking for casual Specialised Carers in Dementia Care. The care model puts residents' needs first and aims to create a home away from home. You will provide tailored care, including personal support, within the residential home.

Key responsibilities

• Personal care such as showering, grooming and toileting
• Providing life engagement
• Supporting residents with levels of dementia
• Recognising, reporting and responding appropriately to changes in residents' conditions within your skills and competencies

Required profile

• Genuine passion for serving elderly people and wanting to make a difference in their lives
• Flexibility to commit to a range of shifts, including nights and weekends
• Team player who can also work independently and show initiative
• Knowledge and experience of people living with dementia and their needs
• Cert III or Cert IV in Aged Care viewed favourably

New staff complete an onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, have buddy shifts and are supported by experienced Registered Nurses and Managers on site. Short-listed applicants must consent to a criminal record check, pre-employment medical assessment and NDIS Worker's Screening check.
