Casual Security Officer - Gatehouse, Ballarat

About the role

Sodexo is looking for an experienced Security Officer to manage the gatehouse at its Mars site in Ballarat. It is a customer-focused role with regular face-to-face contact with contractors, truck drivers, couriers, employees and visitors, ensuring site access requirements and security procedures are followed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor access to the Mars site in line with entry and security procedures.
• Provide professional customer service to contractors, visitors, truck drivers and couriers.
• Receive deliveries and complete accurate data entry, registers and spreadsheets.
• Maintain site security, safety and compliance requirements.
• Monitor CCTV and other security systems and report incidents or concerns.
• Respond to security and safety incidents.

Required profile

• Current Victorian Security Licence.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Previous security experience, ideally in a gatehouse or access control environment.
• Ability to build relationships with contractors, visitors and internal stakeholders.
• Professional, reliable and proactive approach to security and safety.

Required skills

• Experience using CCTV and security systems.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail and strong data entry skills.
• Confident use of Excel, spreadsheets and other computer systems.
