Security Officer – 12 Month Fixed-Term, 4 on 4 off

About the role

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Security Officer to manage the gatehouse at its Mars site in Ballarat. The position operates on a rotating 4 × 12‑hour day shift followed by 4 days off, then 4 × 12‑hour night shift with 4 days off, providing a balanced work‑life pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Control site entry, interacting with contractors, truck drivers and couriers while ensuring compliance with entry requirements.
• Receive deliveries, perform data entry, and maintain accurate spreadsheets of gatehouse activity.
• Monitor security and CCTV systems, observe, report and respond to incidents promptly.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and visitors at all times.

Required profile

• Valid security licence for Victoria and a current first‑aid certificate.
• Previous experience in gatehouse security duties, including spreadsheet management and data entry.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and excellent communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Experience using CCTV and security monitoring systems.
