Cafe Manager

About the role

62Thirty Cafe & Bar, a beachfront dining destination on Koombana Bay in Bunbury, is looking for an experienced and motivated Cafe Manager to oversee the daily operations of its cafe. The successful candidate will coordinate food and beverage services, manage staff, monitor stock and financial performance and ensure a high standard of customer service. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily cafe operations, including food preparation coordination, customer service and dining.
• Plan menus with the chefs, considering customer preferences, food quality, seasonality and business needs.
• Plan and organise special functions, events and group bookings.
• Arrange purchases of food, beverages, equipment and supplies within budget, and monitor suppliers and stock levels.
• Set and review menu pricing in line with budgets and operating costs, and keep accurate records of stock, purchases, sales and expenses.
• Monitor revenue, expenditure and operational costs.
• Keep dining areas, kitchen and service areas clean and functional, and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Monitor customer feedback, handle enquiries and complaints professionally and implement improvements.
• Recruit, train, supervise and roster front-of-house and kitchen staff, and coordinate kitchen and front-of-house communication.
• Identify ways to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a cafe, restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Hospitality Management (or equivalent experience) highly regarded.
• Hands-on manager with strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

• Stock control, purchasing, supplier management and inventory procedures.
• Budgeting, cost control, pricing and financial record-keeping.
• Food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety knowledge.

What we offer

• Salary of $70,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.
