Cadet Drafter – Urban Infrastructure

About the role

SMEC is looking for a Cadet Drafter to join its Urban Infrastructure team in Parramatta. You will support the creation of schematic and construction‑level drawings for major infrastructure projects across New South Wales while gaining mentorship from experienced industry leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing schematic and production drawings under supervision.
• Produce construction‑level documentation and manage print and issuing procedures.
• Support senior drafters with task analysis and problem solving.
• Perform general office duties and follow vault data management processes.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree.
• Willingness to learn CAD technologies, especially the Autodesk suite.
• Ability to interpret instructions and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk CAD software.
• Basic CAD drafting skills.
