Business Tax Specialist - Private Tax (Senior Associate)

About the role

PwC Australia is hiring a Senior Associate in its Entrepreneurial & Private Business (EPB) Private Clients line of service, based in Melbourne. You will help privately owned businesses navigate complex tax environments through customised tax advisory and compliance services, supporting clients from family enterprises and partnerships to privately held companies.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with a portfolio of private business clients and give tailored tax advice.
• Prepare and review tax returns so clients meet their obligations accurately and in compliance with current regulations.
• Advise on tax-efficient strategies, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and reorganisation.
• Keep up with tax laws and regulations and research thoroughly to guide clients.
• Mentor and support junior staff.
• Identify tax risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Update clients on tax-related issues and legislative changes.
• Provide tax compliance, planning and advisory services for large client groups including trusts, companies, partnerships and individuals.
• Support acquisitions with tax due diligence, review of tax sections of purchase agreements, tax consolidation calculations and stub period tax returns.
