Business Systems Analyst - SOC & SIEM Transformation

About the role

M&T Resources is partnering with a complex enterprise organisation to recruit a Business Analyst for a major Security Operations Centre (SOC) and SIEM transformation program. The role focuses on improving security monitoring capabilities, supporting operational uplift activities and driving process improvements across business and technology teams. It is based in Brisbane's northern suburbs and runs as an initial contract through to 30 June 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops, interviews and requirements gathering sessions
• Elicit, analyse and document business, functional and non-functional requirements
• Develop current-state and future-state process models and supporting artefacts
• Support SOC and SIEM onboarding, including security telemetry processes
• Conduct capability assessments, gap analysis and process improvement activities
• Collaborate with technical, security and business stakeholders to deliver outcomes
• Support transition planning, operational readiness and implementation
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle

Required profile

• Experienced Business Analyst with a background in cyber security, ICT or transformation programs
• Experience supporting initiatives within SOC or security monitoring environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required skills

• Documenting requirements, business processes and future-state designs
• Capability assessments, gap analysis and operating model reviews
• Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies
• Nice to have: SOC maturity uplift, Zero Trust or Secure by Design initiatives, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender
