Business Services Accountant

About the role

Grant Thornton Australia is seeking a hands‑on Business Services Accountant to join its Private Enterprise team in Brisbane. You will work with a diverse client portfolio, providing accounting and tax compliance support while enjoying flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, BAS, FBT and payroll tax returns for SME to large‑company clients.
• Build collaborative relationships based on trust and competency.
• Assist with accounting and tax advisory work that supports client business decisions.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members as required.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Business, Commerce, Accounting or Finance (or equivalent overseas qualification).
• Commenced or planning to commence CA qualification.
• Significant professional experience in business and tax advisory within a chartered accounting setting.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills with a client‑focused mindset.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
