Business Development Manager (QLD)

About the role

SGS Australia, a leading provider of testing, inspection and certification services, is looking for a Business Development Manager in Queensland. The role combines consultative selling with strategic thinking: you will identify growth opportunities, develop tailored service solutions and deliver against sales revenue targets, working closely with sales and back-office teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and win new business, focusing on large, multi-site organisations
• Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and understanding customer needs to developing solutions and closing deals
• Build and maintain sales plans that support revenue targets and sustainable growth
• Promote certification, customised audit and training services in line with business strategy
• Keep CRM records accurate and report clearly on sales activity, pipeline and plans
• Prepare accurate Contract Work Sheets and coordinate the required approvals
• Translate market opportunities into growth plans and contribute to business strategy
• Collaborate with internal teams and support continuous improvement

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' experience selling certification services, including complex solutions to large, multi-site organisations, with success across SME and corporate clients
• Experience in the certification and auditing market
• Strong relationship-building skills and clear, confident written and verbal communication
• Commercial acumen and an analytical approach to customer needs and growth opportunities
• Proactive, results-driven mindset, able to work autonomously and contribute to a team
• Strong organisational skills and a customer-focused approach

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM systems
