Business Development Manager - Energy & Industrials

About the role

GlobalData, a specialist information services business, is looking for an enthusiastic Business Development Manager for its Sydney office. The role represents the GlobalData Energy & Industrials Practice, covering Power Generation, Construction, Mining, Renewables and Oil & Gas, in a hybrid position selling to the APAC territory.

Key responsibilities

• Sell mid-value, specialised information solutions to new clients, delivering Sales Intelligence, Strategy Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Competitor Intelligence and Innovation Intelligence outcomes in the Energy & Industrials sectors across APAC.
• Conduct business development mainly through phone calls and live online demonstrations of the solutions to C-Suite executives.
• Tailor a winning business proposition to each prospect's objectives and desired outcomes.
• Achieve the monthly new-logo quota through effective sales outreach.
• Qualify the client's organisational structure, available budget and decision process to forecast new-logo opportunities accurately.

Required profile

• 3-5+ years of proven BDM/new-logo sales experience in information services/data analytics or media/subscription sales.
• Experience selling into the large-scale Energy & Industrials sector or similar is preferred.
• Hunter mentality, a desire to build a career in information services and a growth mindset.
• Proven track record of hitting sales quotas and KPIs, including monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
• High-level proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, including influencing, persuading and negotiating with all levels of people.
• Experience facilitating strong C-level meetings.
• Effective prioritisation and time management.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Salesforce or similar.
