Business Development Executive

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Executive to join the Sales & Marketing team at Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill. In this role you will drive proactive sales activity, build relationships, and grow our corporate, meetings and events business across Brisbane and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales plans to generate new corporate, meetings and events business.
• Build, maintain and grow relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Conduct sales calls, client meetings and hotel site inspections to showcase facilities.
• Prepare proposals, contracts and sales presentations.
• Maintain accurate client records and pipeline information in approved sales systems.
• Collaborate with internal hotel departments to ensure successful delivery and retention of key accounts.

Required profile

• 1–2 years experience in sales, customer service or business development, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, results‑oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• High level of professionalism, integrity and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience using CRM systems.
• Familiarity with hotel property management systems (preferred).
