Business Development Associate – Government & Regulatory Focus

About the role

The Business Development Associate will support Shield AI’s growth by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and managing stakeholder communications. The role involves maintaining pipelines in Salesforce, coordinating meetings, and supporting events and travel logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with federal, state and territory government departments, agencies and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor and interpret government policies, regulations and initiatives relevant to the organisation.
• Support alignment of company objectives with Australian government priorities such as NDS, IIP and DIDS.
• Coordinate applications for approvals, licences and other regulatory requirements.
• Represent the organisation at official meetings, forums and industry events.
• Assist with preparing documents, reports and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support trade show and conference presence through event planning and follow‑up.
• Arrange domestic and international travel for team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales support or office coordination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organisational ability to manage competing tasks and priorities.
• Proactive, adaptable approach with strong attention to detail.
