Business Analyst – Data & Reporting
Bridgit · Sydney
Job description
About the role
Bridgit, a non-bank lender helping Australians access property equity through a digital application and flexible loan options, is hiring a Business Analyst in Sydney. You will act as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery, turning complex technical architectures into clear business benefits and turning ambiguous requests into actionable technical requirements. In the first three months you will help migrate the reporting infrastructure from legacy systems to a modern, scalable platform, then shape how the company uses data for decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Migrate the remaining department reports (Finance, Credit, Distribution, Marketing) and document the data dictionary, standard views and Power BI reports with business logic and data lineage
- Build and maintain a standard views sheet of reusable data assets and optimize reporting processes across departments
- Design new reports and dashboards, define requirements for self-service analytics and partner with FP&A on forecasting analytics
- Run gap analysis and impact assessments, translate financial and lending requirements into technical specifications, and validate data quality and business logic
- Champion data governance and maintain single-source-of-truth documentation
Required profile
- 3-5 years in business analysis, data analysis or BI roles
- Hands-on technical BA experience, not just requirements gathering
- Track record of working between technical teams and business stakeholders
- Experience in data migration or reporting transformation projects
Required skills
- Intermediate to advanced SQL, including writing investigation queries
- Working knowledge of Power BI, data models and DAX
- Understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, dimensional modeling and relational databases
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder management
What we offer
- Extra days off: birthday leave, kudos leave and an additional day of paid leave for life events
- Two weeks of remote work per year
- Training and development budget and internal learning programmes
- Generous parental leave and discounted gym membership
- Catered team lunches, events and a dog-friendly Sydney office
