Boilermakers - Heavy Mobile Plant

About the role

A leading ASX-listed mining contractor is seeking 4 Boilermakers with strong heavy fabrication experience in mobile mining plant. Working as part of an experienced maintenance team, you will carry out heavy fabrication, structural repairs and maintenance on a large fleet of mobile mining equipment, helping maintain its integrity, reliability and availability. The positions are contract-to-permanent with a strong hourly rate, a rotating 7/7 dayshift and nightshift roster, and camp accommodation with meals provided; transport is available from Mackay and Townsville.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out heavy fabrication, welding and structural repairs on large mobile mining equipment.
• Repair buckets, trays, booms, chassis, structural components and other heavy equipment assemblies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Identify structural defects, wear and damage and repair them to the required standards.
• Work safely and efficiently within a high-performing maintenance team, maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and quality.

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker.
• Current Coal Board medical and Standard 11.
• NPC (National Police Clearance) or willingness to obtain one.
• Demonstrated heavy fabrication experience in mining, heavy industry or a similar environment.
• Previous experience on large mobile plant and heavy mining equipment.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and ability to work in a team on a rotating day/night roster.

• Liebherr R 9800, R 9400 and R 9350 excavators
• Hitachi EX3600 excavators
• Caterpillar D10 and D11 dozers, 793 and 794 haul trucks
• Komatsu WA600 and WA900 loaders
• EH5000 ultra-class haul trucks
