Before and After School Care Educator

About the role

Randstad is looking for casual before and after school care educators to work with providers in the Redfern area and surrounding suburbs. The role suits people who want to choose when and how they work, with shifts typically between 2pm and 6pm. Both qualified and unqualified OSHC educators are sought.

Key responsibilities

• Actively supervise primary school-aged children in outdoor and indoor activities
• Help other staff run fun and educational programs
• Set up outside-of-school clubs and activities
• Provide a safe and secure environment
• Liaise with carers and families

Required profile

• No qualifications needed, but experience working with children is essential; alternatively a Diploma or Certificate III in early childhood education, Certificate IV in Education Support, Certificate IV in school aged education and care, or Certificate IV in Children's Studies 4-14 years
• Australian work rights
• Willingness to obtain a state-based Working With Children Card and Food Handling Certificate
• Commitment to child safeguarding and understanding of mandatory reporting responsibilities
• Willingness to complete mandatory national child safety training
• Ability to provide contact details for at least two recent professional referees who have managed you

Required skills

• Able to implement quality, engaging, activity-based programs
• Understanding of the My Time Our Place framework
• Willingness to travel to different locations around your area
