Bartender

About the role

Andaz Gold Coast is looking for a warm, confident and curious Bartender to create thoughtful, engaging experiences across its food and beverage venues. The role covers preparing classic and contemporary cocktails, sharing recommendations and bringing the character of the venue to life through every guest interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages to a consistently high standard.
• Welcome guests warmly and deliver attentive, unscripted service.
• Share thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Build strong knowledge of the beverage menu, ingredients and local influences.
• Contribute ideas for seasonal cocktails, signature serves and new beverage experiences.
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar.
• Complete opening and closing duties accurately and efficiently.
• Process orders and payments through the point-of-sale system.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stock rotation, ordering and inventory control.
• Follow responsible service of alcohol requirements and all health, hygiene and safety procedures.
• Work closely with floor and kitchen colleagues and support events, activations and special service periods when required.

Required profile

• Previous bartending or beverage service experience.
• Sound knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and beer.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Confidence working in a fast-paced environment and excellent attention to detail and presentation.
• Curiosity and a genuine interest in beverage culture.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
• Experience in a luxury hotel, premium restaurant, cocktail bar or high-volume venue is highly regarded.
