Bar Manager

About the role

The Mercure Resort sits between the Hinterland and the Gold Coast beaches, with 292 rooms across nine blocks, tropical gardens and two pools. As Bar Manager you will oversee the bar overlooking the resort's pool and the Palm Meadows Golf Course, lead the F&B team in the locally inspired restaurant and bar, and help design the beverage menu, craft cocktails and mocktails and create a memorable bar experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the successful operation of the bar
• Lead and inspire the team to deliver excellent hospitality
• Drive sales and a positive guest experience
• Work closely with other F&B outlet leaders and the kitchen team
• Support operations of the restaurant, conferences and other outlets as required
• Handle complaints calmly and professionally, with guest-centred solutions
• Support onboarding, feedback, training and development of the F&B team
• Promote a positive and inclusive culture across the team and the resort

Required profile

• Passion for connecting with people and providing hospitality with heart
• Experience leading a team and promoting a positive culture
• Excellent communication and guest service skills
• Reliable transport, as public transport is not accessible at required shift times
• Availability for weeknights, weekends and the holiday season

Required skills

• Excellent bartending skills and beverage knowledge
• RSA certificate
