Audit Director – Strategic Leadership Role

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Audit Director to join a growing team with opportunities across major Australian cities. This senior position offers strategic leadership, business growth responsibilities, and the chance to shape audit strategy for a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and lead complex audit engagements, ensuring compliance with Australian auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients, acting as a senior adviser and identifying service improvement opportunities.
• Drive revenue growth through new client acquisition, networking, proposal development, and expanding existing relationships.
• Lead, mentor, and develop audit partners, senior managers, managers, and wider engagement teams to foster a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Extensive external audit and assurance experience, preferably from a Big Four, mid‑tier, or leading professional services firm.
• Recognised professional accounting qualification (CA ANZ, CPA Australia or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of Australian auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Proven track record in leading complex audits, managing significant client portfolios, and driving business development.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to inspire, develop and retain high‑performing teams.
