Assurance Specialist

About the role

Elders is looking for an Assurance Specialist to join its team on a permanent, full-time basis in Adelaide. The role supports the next phase of Elders' risk and assurance capability, working closely with the Head of Group Risk and Compliance to coordinate assurance activities, maintain assurance information and support assurance reviews across the Group. It involves control testing, evidence collection, reporting and monitoring of action completion, with exposure to a broad range of risk, compliance and assurance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Group's enterprise assurance map and assurance plan, and coordinate assurance activities and oversight of coverage.
• Deliver assurance activities including control testing, evidence gathering, documentation reviews and assurance assessments.
• Undertake reviews, document observations, findings and improvement opportunities, and support stakeholders with evidence collection and documentation.
• Monitor and track remediation activities, follow up on agreed actions and maintain assurance registers.
• Support strategic projects and business initiatives, and contribute to risk and assurance uplift initiatives, including process improvements, capability development and the new operating model.
• Prepare assurance reports, dashboards and governance papers for management and governance forums.
• Maintain accurate assurance records, templates and reporting information.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in audit, risk, accounting, law or a related discipline, or equivalent.
• Proven ability to deliver assurance reviews end-to-end, including scoping, testing, evidence gathering, findings and action tracking.
• Experience building or maturing an assurance capability, approach or program of work.
• Audit or assurance credential such as CIA, CA/CPA or equivalent is highly regarded.

• Clear, concise communication, able to present assurance findings to senior audiences.
• Ability to provide constructive challenge while maintaining independence and evidence standards.
