Associate Solicitor - Family Law

About the role

Orbell Family Lawyers, a specialist family law firm based in Newcastle, is looking for an Associate Solicitor with 3+ years of PQE. You will carry your own matters with close mentoring from a Partner, supported by clear systems, experienced colleagues and a collaborative, values-driven team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a balanced portfolio of parenting, property and divorce matters with guidance from senior practitioners
• Draft legal documents, settlement proposals, affidavits and correspondence to OFL standards
• Advise clients strategically and empathetically, supported by Senior Solicitors
• Attend court events, mediations and negotiations with appropriate support
• Collaborate with barristers, experts and team members to progress matters
• Use the firm's Matter Management Framework to improve productivity
• Take part in firm initiatives such as knowledge sharing, team building and community engagement

Required profile

• 3+ years PQE in Family Law
• Right to work in Australia
• Strong drafting skills and confidence in managing your own files with support
• Clear communicator with clients and team, tech-friendly and team-oriented
