Associate Software Developer

About the role

Join the Core Platforms team at Transport for NSW to design, build and maintain customer‑facing web and mobile applications that support transport services across New South Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and improve existing applications using JavaScript, TypeScript and React.
• Contribute to mobile development with React Native and integrate applications with APIs and backend services.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including automated testing, code reviews and releases.
• Investigate and resolve defects, support production applications and help enhance software quality, performance and maintainability.

Required profile

• Early‑career developer with a solid foundation in programming and a genuine interest in web and application development.
• Comfortable writing and debugging code, collaborating with other developers and learning an existing codebase.
• Curious, eager to learn and able to take ownership of software quality.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript.
• React and React Native frameworks.
• API integration and automated testing experience.
