Associate Partner - Tax Advisory

About the role

BG Private, an accounting, audit and advisory firm in Australia, is seeking an Associate Partner to join its Tax Advisory team. The role sits at the intersection of senior client leadership and firm growth, suits a future leader who wants to drive revenue growth and contributes to the firm's strategic direction. It has a clear pathway to Partnership and is part of the firm's long-term succession planning.

Key responsibilities

• Grow the revenue base of the tax consulting division through business development, networking and marketing
• Own and manage a portfolio of key clients, acting as trusted advisor and primary relationship lead
• Prepare tax advice, lead client meetings and deliver work on time to a high standard
• Review and oversee technical quality across compliance and tax advisory work covering income tax, GST, Division 7A, CGT, FBT, trust distributions, superannuation guarantee, land tax, payroll tax and stamp duty
• Build relationships with business owners, directors, boards and executors, and identify opportunities to expand services and retain clients

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Finance
• CA/CPA qualified
• Law degree and/or Master of Tax qualification
• 10+ years' proven experience in a tax advisory team
• Proven ability to manage client relationships independently at a senior level, with a track record of client satisfaction and retention
• Leadership skills including delegation, mentoring and accountability for outcomes

Required skills

• Strong technical tax advisory expertise, supporting SMEs, private companies, family groups and not-for-profits
• Experience drafting technical advice and assisting with ATO audit reviews
• Commercial mindset and sound professional judgment
