Associate Mechanical Engineer - Discipline Lead

About the role

A Queensland building services consultancy, described as one of the state's fastest growing, is looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to act as Discipline Lead. The role sits alongside a director who focuses on client-focused solutions and covers aged care, education, community and residential projects. The consultancy is advertising through CSA Recruitment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers working closely with architects, builders and project managers
• Mentor and develop a high-performing mechanical team
• Partner with the director on client engagement, marketing and new business
• Lead HVAC design, including plans, specifications and compliance calculations
• Oversee inspections, testing and commissioning of HVAC installations
• Take a lead role in quality assurance and verification of mechanical designs

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Chartered or Professional Engineer registration
• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects, including financial and coordination aspects
• Experience in HVAC system design within an Australian building services consultancy or mechanical contractor
• Experience with business development, including marketing and fee proposal writing
• Passion for mentoring engineers
• Full Australian work rights; candidates must have 3+ years of experience in Australia
