Associate Lawyer – Government and Regulatory

About the role

Join Sparke Helmore’s Government Public & Regulatory team in Brisbane (or Perth) as an Associate Lawyer. You will work alongside senior partners Ben Dubé and Matthew Hawker, handling high‑profile administrative and regulatory matters for Commonwealth clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on complex administrative, merits review and judicial review matters.
• Represent clients in Federal Courts and the Administrative Review Tribunal.
• Collaborate with leading experts on sensitive, strategic government projects.
• Participate in regular advocacy work and develop specialised practice areas.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience in a reputable litigation practice, preferably in administrative or public law.
• Demonstrated interest and solid grounding in administrative law.
• Advocacy experience in tribunals and/or Federal Courts is highly desirable.
