Associate Equine Veterinarian (Seasonal)

About the role

Scone Equine Group, Australia's largest provider of equine veterinary services, is recruiting Associate Equine Veterinarians for a seasonal position from about August to January, with discussion open about an ongoing permanent position. The role suits applicants with at least 2 years of graduated experience in mixed or equine practice, though new or recent graduates are encouraged to apply; a support and mentoring program is available. Successful candidates join the Ambulatory/Reproduction team, working with a team of vets serving the Scone region of the Upper Hunter Valley, with opportunities in the neighbouring Denman or Murrurundi areas.

Key responsibilities

• Work within the Ambulatory/Reproduction team with responsibilities tailored to the applicant's strengths and experience.
• Provide after-hours care on a roster expected to be 1 in 3 or better, with backup and second opinions from experienced and specialist veterinarians.
• Support clients across the Scone region, with possible work in Denman or Murrurundi.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification fully registered in New South Wales; applicants eligible only for limited registration may apply.
• At least 2 years of graduated experience in mixed or equine practice, or recent graduation.
• Visa assistance is offered where needed.

What we offer

• Salary of $110,000 - $130,000 AUD per year depending on experience, under a contract of employment.
