Associate Director, Structured Asset Finance

About the role

CommBank's IB&M Capital Structuring business has a Structured Asset Finance (SAF) team delivering asset-backed funding and leasing solutions for corporates, governments and institutional clients in sectors such as transport, logistics, infrastructure, energy transition and digital. As Associate Director, you will sit at the centre of complex, deal-driven transactions, working closely with Coverage, Markets, Risk, Treasury and Legal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the growth of the SAF franchise by contributing to the origination of new opportunities through market insights and client engagement.
• Work across the full transaction lifecycle, assisting in structuring and executing complex asset-backed financing and leasing solutions.
• Partner with senior originators, clients and sponsors on high-value deals, building trusted relationships.
• Deliver financial modelling, analysis and transaction insights to support deal execution and decision making.
• Collaborate with Coverage, Risk, Treasury and Legal to assess and manage transaction risk, and support credit approvals and governance requirements.
• Support team capability and development.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in structured/asset finance, IB&M, project finance, leveraged finance or private credit.
• Exposure to transaction execution within a deal team environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration capability.
• A proactive mindset with strong risk awareness.

Required skills

• Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial judgement skills.
• Understanding of credit, asset risk, capital, accounting, tax and documentation considerations.
