Assistant Manager (Duty Manager) - Front Office

About the role

Pullman at Sydney Olympic Park, part of the Accor precinct that also includes Novotel and Ibis, is looking for a motivated and energetic Assistant Manager (Duty Manager) to join its Front Office leadership team. You will oversee day-to-day hotel operations during your shift, ensure exceptional guest experiences, support and develop team members and act as a key point of contact for guests and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Front Office team during your shift and ensure smooth daily operations
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently
• Coach, mentor and support Front Office team members to achieve service excellence
• Conduct shift briefings, handovers and team communication updates
• Build strong working relationships across all hotel departments
• Monitor hotel standards, procedures and compliance requirements
• Assist with team training, development and performance management
• Support recruitment, onboarding and rostering as required
• Manage daily balancing procedures and ensure accurate reporting
• Act as the senior hotel representative and decision-maker during your shift

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a hotel Front Office environment or similar
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards
• Positive, hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing people
• Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution and organisational skills; able to stay calm in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings, public holidays and major event days
• Full-time availability
• Valid Australian driver's licence

Required skills

• Experience with Opera Cloud or similar Property Management Systems (preferred)
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain it
• Valid RSA certification or willingness to obtain it
