Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

The Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Convention Centre, part of the Accor Group, is looking for an Assistant Financial Controller. You will support the resort's financial performance through reporting, analysis, compliance and financial management, working closely with the Financial Controller and department leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily finance operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, purchasing and reporting
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and financial analysis
• Partner with leaders to improve profitability and manage costs
• Prepare accurate reports and provide commercial insights
• Support cash flow, credit approvals and debt recovery
• Ensure compliance with Accor policies and internal controls
• Improve financial processes and systems to drive efficiency
• Support the development and performance of the Finance team

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
• 3+ years' experience in a similar senior finance role
• Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen and cost management experience
• Knowledge of PAYG, GST, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, BAS, Accounts Payable and Superannuation
• Experience with accounting systems; Opera Cloud, Zambion Ready Workforce, Purchase Plus, Micros Symphony and Sun Cloud are advantageous
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
