Assistant Buyer

About the role

Forever New, a global Australian fashion brand celebrating 20 years, is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join its Buying team in Melbourne. Working closely with the Buyer, suppliers and cross-functional teams, you will take ownership of the critical path, support commercial product decisions and help ensure product reaches customers at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Drive product from order through to delivery
• Build strong supplier relationships and manage milestones, challenges and opportunities
• Identify opportunities to push, pull or adjust stock based on performance
• Use competitor insights, customer trends and product performance to inform trade decisions
• Support fit and sealing sessions so ranges meet brand expectations
• Collaborate with Buying, Design, Planning, Production and Visual Merchandising
• Support the Buyer and grow your leadership capability

Required profile

• Hands-on buying experience and strong commercial instincts
• Previous experience at Assistant Buyer level, supported by a strong foundation in Buying Administration
• Understanding of product, trade and the customer
• Experience managing critical paths, suppliers and key production milestones
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and reprioritise as business needs change
