Assistant Accountant – Junior Financial Accountant Role

About the role
We are a well‑established Brisbane‑based manufacturing business, part of an international group, looking for an Assistant Accountant / Junior Financial Accountant to join our close‑knit finance team. This full‑time position offers a hands‑on experience across both transactional and month‑end accounting functions.
Key responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process and post invoices
- Monitor debtor balances and conduct follow‑up
- Perform general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with month‑end closing activities
- Support the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc finance tasks
Required profile
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or a related field
- Currently studying towards CPA/CA or planning to commence
- Experience in a broad accounting support or assistant accountant role
- Comfortable handling both transactional and accounting duties
- Reliable, hands‑on, and able to work collaboratively in an SME environment
