Asset Information and Business Specialist

About the role

Metro, which operates and maintains Melbourne's train service since 2009, is looking for an Asset Information and Business Specialist to join its Operational Control & Management System Division. You will lead asset management activities supporting process improvements, asset management strategies and contractual obligations, and own the creation of processes and governance around asset handover from Projects, while keeping day-to-day activities aligned with the Asset Management Strategy and framework. This is a full-time role based at the Collins Street office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve asset management processes, systems and governance frameworks aligned with strategy, contractual obligations and business requirements.
• Lead business analysis by running workshops, gathering and documenting requirements, finding process gaps and developing practical solutions.
• Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for change and leading sustainable process and system enhancements.
• Build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders and manage expectations across the organisation.
• Provide subject matter expertise on IT and Operational Technology (OT) asset management systems, ensuring accurate asset registration, data integrity and traceability.
• Turn complex business challenges into practical, value-driven solutions.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems and information management.
• Experience in an asset-intensive industry.
• Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary organisation.
• Experience developing and delivering improvement programs, and writing and coordinating procedural documentation.
